design_north east is devoted to generating a strong sense of place in living, working and leisure environments throughout the North East.
We work across the public and private sectors to drive up the skills and knowledge of all those involved in new development, promoting good design and encouraging strong client leadership.
RIBA North East extends from Northumberland to Teeside supporting over 250 student members and 700 chartered members. Through the regional office, the RIBA is able to respond effectively to the requirements of local members and the region, providing a vital point of contact between the RIBA and the tiers of regional governance and decision-makers at a local level throughout the North East. By harnessing the knowledge and expertise of those who live and work in the area, RIBA North East is able to promote architecture to a wide audience. RIBA North East is housed in the Faculty of Engineering and the Environment at Northumbria University in Newcastle upon Tyne.
